New England Patriots Defeat Jacksonville Jaguars

The New England Patriots managed to hold off the Jacksonville Jaguars and win 24-21, despite a late-game rally by the Jaguars who scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady completed 28 of 39 passes for 249 yards and one touchdown pass. Although the Patriots carried the ball for 117 yards in this one, Cory Dillon only touched the ball ten times for a total of 30 yards. Even Tom Brady had more rushing yards that Dillon, rushing 10 times for 31 yards. Despite the numbers, it was enough to take on the surging Panthers who were playing to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Patriots became the first team to score more than 20 points against the Jaguars at Alltel Stadium this season and clinched the AFC East. The Jaguars have been dominant at home this season, with suffocating defensive provided by defensive tackles Marcus Stroud (6 feet, 6 inches), and John Henderson (6 feet, 7 inches). Fortunately, Brady was able to put his last trip to Florida behind him (remember that shut-out against the Dolphins?) as the Pats secured a victory and the AFC East.
