Patriots Upset with Block on Harrison

The biggest concern for any team in the NFL that doesn’t have much to play for in the season’s final weeks is injuries.  Teams want to make sure that their full roster is healthy and ready for the games that really count in January and hopefully February.  That’s why so many teams rest their starters in these types of games.

The Patriots got a huge scare yesterday in their win over the Titans when their defensive leader and chief backfield intimidator, S Rodney Harrison, left the game with an injured knee after a controversial block by Titans WR Bobby Wade.  Harrison thought that the block was dirty, and the Patriots as a team were incensed not only by the block but by the apparent reaction of Titans Coach Jeff Fisher afterwards.

Players said that Fisher smiled and winked as Harrison struggled after the block, and LB Tedy Bruschi actually charged the Titans’ sideline in reaction to the play.  However, Fisher apologized later and called his reaction “a misunderstanding.”  Regardless, it appears that Harrison will be OK, and Pats’ fans are ready to snap up NFL Playoff tickets in order to create a typically-intimidating environment at home next weekend.
