According to ESPN.com, suspended strong safety Rodney Harrison has returned to practice with the New England Patriots. Harrison was suspended four games by the NFL for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Harrison received and used HGH, he claims to help him recover from an injury a couple of years ago. Harrison has served his four-game suspension and will now return to his duties with the team. There is no word from coach Bill Belichick if Harrison will start or even play on Sunday, though the coach is known for being tight-lipped about such things anyway.
The injection of 14-year veteran and defensive leader Harrison back into the line-up should have an impact on an already impressive New England defense. Harrison was present on the New England teams that won all those Super Bowls and his experience cannot be underestimated, on or off the field. Though he may not make an immediate impact as a playmaker out on the field, Harrison will definitely not be a hindrance to a New England team that seems unstoppable after one month of football. The rest of the league should take note right now of how to build a dynastic franchise, because the Patriots are offering up the blueprint.
