Singing the Praises of Kevin Faulk

Len Pasquarelli’s Tip Sheet is floating around on ESPN.com at the moment, and Kevin Faulk is the primary subject of the column.  Len points out that Kevin Faulk - while not exactly the featured back that every team in the NFL seems to covet - does many things well for the New England Patriots.  Faulk runs the ball, catches passes, and returns kicks for the Pats as he is needed on a week-to-week basis.  Faulk also possesses all the intangibles that Bill Belichick looks for in his most valued players.  He is selfless, he leads on the field with his play, and he will do whatever it takes to lead his team to victory.

It’s players like Kevin Faulk that make the difference on teams like the Patriots.  Real character guys who have been playing Pats football for so long that they can’t imagine going anywhere else.  While Randy Moss may have made headlines this year, he is the exception in New England, not the rule.  The Patriots’ roster is full of players just like Kevin Faulk.  Men who have won Super Bowls with the Patriots in the past.  Men who understand what it takes to win the in the playoffs.  And men who trust that if they follow the instructions of their coach - a man who is an astounding 13-3 in the NFL playoffs - they will win.
