Randy Moss Denies Allegations

In a headline that I’m sure all New England fans were hoping they’d not have to see at all this season, Randy Moss is vehemently denying allegations that he struck a woman in Florida on January 6.  Moss claims the woman - a longtime friend of his - is attempting to extort money from him after having an accident on the date in question.  Moss has also stated publicly that he went to Bill Belichick first when the extortion began, and he is approaching this situation as per the instructions of his coach.  Again, it bears noting that no criminal charges have been filed against Moss, and he has denied any and all wrongdoing.

I have to say that I believe the guy.  He’s been an absolute saint all year, so it doesn’t make sense that he would sabotage his team’s season right now.  Moss was also extremely adamant about the fact that he has never once put his hands on a woman in any angry or violent way, and he seemed extremely sincere when he spoke to the media.  His teammates were also quite steadfast in their support for Moss, which may actually be a first for the receiver.  I believe this time, even with his track record, Moss deserves the benefit of the doubt.  I also believe that this situation will have little to no affect on the outcome of Sunday’s game.
