Clayton’s First and Super Bowl

We have finally arrived at the final Clayton’s First and 10, this one being called First and Goal as a play on the fact that there are no more games this weekend.  There is only one game - THE game - the Super Bowl.  The New England Patriots will finally play the game that everyone has been talking about for the past two weeks.  They’ll be playing a team called the New York Giants, and though not much has been said about it on this blog, those Giants happen to have one certain Plaxico Burress who has made a rather infamous prognostication about the game’s outcome.

I never had a problem with Burress’s prediction, to be honest.  It seemed to be mostly in good fun, and Burress - unlike many of the players who have predicted victory for their teams over New England this season - has the credentials to actually run a little smack on the Pats.  It seemed to me that it was all supposed to be in good fun, and it wasn’t too much of a distraction to either team.  However, John Clayton happens to believe Burress’s prediction will prove false, and the Pats will win out.  So take that for what it’s worth.
