Singing Wheatley’s Praises

The Patriots have had another very successful draft, picking up some extremely solid players who are sure to make an impact from the first time their cleats dig into an NFL field.  However, there are many fans of the Pats who know nothing about these new players.  Many people in Boston and the surrounding New England area are not extremely familiar with football at lesser programs west of the Mississippi River.  As such, many fans still need to get to know second-round draft pick Terrence Wheatley before he suits up for the Patriots.
Wheatley is the cornerback of the future for the Pats, and that should excite New England fans all over the country.  The article details some of Wheatley’s accomplishments.  But the overall gist of the article is this:  Wheatley is an exceptional physical specimen, but his real secret is his smarts.  If Wheatley is as cerebral a player as this article reports him to be, then he will be a great fit in the Belichick defense.  Once again, the Patriots draft players who they expect to transition seamlessly into their system.  I predict it pays dividends next season.
