No Decision on Seau

After a tumultuous offseason for the New England Patriots, it seems that we can all finally shift our attention back to football.  After all the hoopla made of the Spygate issue and other ancillary disputes that stemmed from said scandal, it seemed as though we would never get out from under the seemingly endless torrent of non-stories and conjecture about something that happened nearly a year ago.  However, it seems things have finally quieted, and we can get to this story about the fact that no decision has yet been made as to Junior Seau’s future as a New England Patriot.

Seau played most of his career as a San Diego Charger.  However, after his retirement, Bill Belichick was able to call and lure the linebacker out onto the field once more.  Seau has been productive in Belichick’s defense, but his age - 39 - may finally be too much for his experience.  While Seau still has a sound mind for the game, one can only wonder how long a man can legitimately play linebacker in the National Football League and still be productive.  There will come a point when the man is just not making enough impact on the field.  Will this year be the year Seau finally walks away for good?  Only time will tell.
