Ben Coates Elected into Pats Hall of Fame

The Patriots fans have spoken.  Given the chance to enshrine a player in their beloved team’s hall, the fans chose to send Ben Coates to the New England Patriots Hall of Fame.  The voting was all done online, and and though there were many deserving choices, more fans felt that Coates deserved to become the 13th player to be enshrined at the Pats’ hall.  Coates will likely not mind the unlucky number, as he is simply glad to have the honor of making it into the Patriots’ hall of fame.  Now he just needs to work on getting into that other Hall of Fame.

Coates was a great player and a great man.  While recent stories have cast a shadow on the Pats, it must be noted that this team has stood for everything that was right about the NFL for years now.  Coates was a player who loved the fans, and obviously it has paid off.  The fans showed him some of that love right back in voting him into the Patriots Hall of Fame.  Coates will now be forever enshrined as one of the greatest Patriots to ever wear the uniform.  He is certainly in some very lofty company, and one could deserve it more.
