Next Up: San Francisco

Bill Belichick’s Patriots are dangerous when coming off a bye week, and this week the rested New England players are setting all sights on their next set of West Coast challenges, starting this week with the San Francisco 49ers (before traveling to San Diego next week.) We’ve seen both of these teams struggle a bit this season, so who will come out on top of Sunday’s matchup?

The 49ers are already running uphill with the fact that the Patriots had a bye last week, as New England had time to rest and regroup. Belichick is also 6-2 for games following bye week during his reign with the Patriots, and his team is ready to make up for that devastating loss to Miami. When it comes to San Francisco, however, the team has home field advantage, if nothing else. The 49ers are also ranked second in the NFL behind Dallas with big plays, having 20 plays of at least 20 yards. Third-and-10 conversions are nothing for San Francisco, and this could get tricky for New England if their defense doesn’t step up the heat. The Patriots’ defense, luckily, consists of all-stars Rodney Harrison, Mike Vrabel and Adalius Thomas, and the three are out for blood. How will Sunday turn out? Stay tuned for results!
