It was a very close game last night in Seattle, yet the New England Patriots rallied to beat the Seattle Seahawks 24-21 in one exciting matchup. Matt Cassel’s 268 yards throwing combined with Wes Welker’s 134 receiving to give the Patriots another win on their schedule, bringing the Pats’ record to 8-5 while the team tries to hold onto an AFC wildcard spot in the playoffs.
New England’s strong offense made up for any holes the team’s injured defense left in yesterday’s game as Randy Moss, Sammy Morris and Wes Welker combined to clinch the matchup in Seattle. Moss collected 56 yards in yesterday’s game, giving him a career total of 13,000, but it was Morris who deserves the praise for play of the week, as his one-yard touchdown on the fourth down with 2:44 left in the game solidified a win for the Patriots. Welker then scored on a two-point conversion to put the nail in the coffin. New England’s record for games after losses now stands at 18-1 (since 2003), and the Patriots will now gear up for another game on the West Coast, traveling to Oakland for next week’s Pats-Raiders matchup.
