Thousands of fans stampede into Gillette Stadium every week during football season to cheer on their favorite NFL team, but they’re not the only ones pouring Patriots spirit into the arena. The New England Patriots cheerleaders are also a main attraction at the stadium, and these spirit divas make it their job to rile up crowds and get the team fired up for every game. Just as the Patriots are spending the off-season preparing for the 2009 NFL Draft, so these Patriots cheerleaders are also looking to rebuild their celebrated squad.
Women over 18 who have what it takes to put the cheer in cheerleader will gather at Gillette Stadium on February 28 to audition for the 2009 Patriots cheerleading squad, and up to 28 members will emerge out of the tryouts. The women who are selected to represent the New England Patriots next season will get to cheer in front of 70,000 fans at Gillette Stadium, travel to Aruba to shoot the 2010 Patriots Cheerleaders Swimsuit calendar and make dozens of appearances throughout New England and around the country as part of the elite dynasty behind the mighty Patriots.
