Brady Speaks but Doesn’t Reveal Much

Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots are known for their extreme policies on keeping quiet in the midst of injuries, and the team is no different when regarding Tom Brady. The superstar New England quarterback tore his anterior cruciate ligament on September 7 in the NFL season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs, and the football world has been relatively clueless as to Brady’s condition ever since. As far as next season goes, the Patriots are in a good position in having either Brady or Matt Cassel step up to the plate (or the field, anyway,) and this lockdown on QBs will ensure the team will not go into next season with a huge hole in its offense.

As for Cassel, his reign as a New England Patriot could be up in the air depending on how well or poorly Brady’s rehabilitation is going, and he’s still waiting on that franchise tag in the meantime. Earlier this week, Brady had a rare moment in the public discussing his healing process, announcing on a Toronto radio station that things were going “really well,” not disclosing much about his status but saying that “it’s just a process. There are some good days and some bad days. You just gotta keep plugging through. That’s life. Things come up and you’ve got to focus your energy and attention on all the positive things.”
