Top New England Super Bowl Moments

Okay, so the New England Patriots won’t be making an appearance this weekend in Super Bowl XLIII. Regardless, there are some top Super Bowl moments the Patriots have been known for over the past several years, and today is all about remembering them. Top New England Super Bowl game memories are as follows:

•Super Bowl XX: The Patriots were a Cinderella team in 1985, losing three of their first five games and coming out of the season with an 11-5 record – good enough for third place in the AFC East behind Miami and New York. The team qualified as the AFC’s second wild card and shocked the world as they beat the New York Jets, Los Angeles Raiders and Miami Dolphins on the path to the Super Bowl. The Pats ultimately lost to the Bears in the Super Bowl, but their incredible journey to the game was memorable enough.

Super Bowl XXXVI: Adam Vinatieri – need we say more? The superhero of a kicker made a game-winning 48-yard field goal at the last second of the game to win the Super Bowl for the Patriots 20-17 against the St. Louis Rams in 2002.

•Super Bowl XXXIX: The Patriots made history in 2005 when they beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl 24-21, becoming the first time since the ’97-’98 Denver Broncos to win consecutive Super Bowls, also becoming the second team in NFL history after the Dallas Cowboys to win three Super Bowls in four years.
They didn’t make the Super Bowl in 2009, but here’s to next year!
