Pats To Kick Off Monday Night Football Opener

We may not know if Hank Williams Jr. will be back to ask “are you ready for some football?” every Monday night with the start of the 2009 football season, but even if Bocephus doesn’t kick off Monday Night Football this fall we already know the teams that will be introduced as the first Monday Night game of the season. The New England Patriots are always an NFL favorite, and it only makes sense that Bill Belichick and Co. will start off the 2009 football season in style, playing the season’s first Monday Night Football game against the T.O. and the Buffalo Bills.

Will Tom Brady be back in action for the season opener? Will T.O. have caused a ruckus in Buffalo by then? Will Bill Belichick be sporting that same cutoff sweatshirt he has for the last 10 years? These questions will all be answered on September 14, when the New England Patriots host the Buffalo Bills at Gillette Stadium as part of a Monday night doubleheader, with the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders playing the second game of the night.
