With Matt Cassel, Mike Vrabel, Larry Izzo, Josh McDaniels and, most importantly, Scott Pioli gone from Foxborough, the 2009 NFL season has already promised to be one full of rebuilding for the New England Patriots. Plenty of holes have been left since the end of last season, and while some of these gaps have been filled, still some might be glaringly obvious soon.
With the NFL Draft coming up, the Patriots are sure going to be missing Scott Pioli, who moved on to Kansas City after pulling in some of the best draft picks with Bill Belichick over the last several years. Pioli and Belichick were repeatedly one of the most explosive duos when it came to the draft, and now Belichick will have to perform without his other half at next week’s draft. Nick Caserio has taken Pioli’s spot with the Patriots and Floyd Reese is in the picture, as well, but when it comes to next week’s draft, we bet it will be all Belichick who will take the wheel. Who will join Belichick’s army in the upcoming weeks and who will be left behind? Keep an eye out for next week’s draft!
